The Golf Club de Genève project has taken off with phase I under way, and Mother Nature was very kind to us up until the beginning of December with only 3 rainy days since the start of works making it one of the driest Autumn months on record. SOL Golf Construction have now completed 6 holes with the construction of the greens, tees and bunkers.
Toro irrigation has been installed on the front 9 and the drainage is not far behind. The SubAir systems are being installed after Christmas. The first few greens have already grown in and are virtually ready for play!
Head Greenkeeper, Charles Charmot, and his team have done a wonderful job in growing in the holes. The real test comes after the festive holidays when the temperatures drop and snow prevails. Let’s wish for more of the same mild and dry conditions as during last Autumn in the New Year!
