August 2009 – UK Gatwick Golf Project

Turfgrass Consultancy are currently completing design route plans for a 9 hole public golf course and golf academy project in the Gatwick area. The plan will include the design of some famous holes from past British Opens and the character will be similar to that of subtle links and heathland courses. Along with a driving range, a short game practise facility will be incorporated and both junior and  non golfers will be invited to use the facility in order to increase the popularity of the game of golf. Lodging for planning will take place in midsummer.

August 2009 – Appointed Agronomists for Dun Laoghaire Golf Club

Turfgrass Consultancy have recently been awarded an Agronomy Services contract with the newly designed Martin Hawtree course at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club. Turfgrass Consultancy is delighted to provide consultancy for the prestigious 27 hole Golf Course in Enniskerry Co. Wicklow, Ireland which opened in August 2007 and has achieved a very high status amongst the golfing elite.

December 2008 – Palmares Resort, Algarve, Portugal

Palmares Golf Resort is upgrading its existing 18 hole golf course to a new 27 hole championship links style golf course with the redesign by Robert Trent Jones II. Turfgrass Consultancy commenced a comprehensive site analysis in December 2008. A report will be produced that will define soils, sand, water and grassing recommendations.

 

October 2008 – Le Prince De Provence

The ultra exclusive private members Club Le Prince De Provence, Vidauban on the Cote D’Azur in France awarded Turfgrass Consultancy their Agronomy Contract. Turfgrass will also assist the Club with an extensive water conservation programme to reduce irrigation requirements by approximately 50%.

 

September 2008 Turfgrass Consultancy appointed Project Agronomists for Sao Paulo Golf Club, Brazil.

Established in 1901, the historic and prestigious Sao Paolo Golf Club in Brazil recently awarded Turfgrass Consultancy an Agronomy contract.

 

27th September 2008 Grand opening of one of Northern Europe’s finest golf resorts - Lübker Golf Resort.

Lübker Golf Resort has been in the making since early 2004. The commissioning of one of the worlds most recognised golf course Architects – Robert Trent Jones II, has now resulted in the completion of a world class golf course in Djursland, Denmark. The magnificent achievement was a collaboration between one of Europe’s best Green Keeper teams, led by Derek Grendowicz, Robert Trent Jones II and Turfgrass Consultancy as Agronomic consultants for the project .

The grand opening took place on Saturday 27th September and the remarkable 36 hole championship course was unveiled to press and public – all facilities of the resort designed to the highest standards.

 

July 2008 Wejchert Golf Club, Poland

Appointed project Agronomists for new 5 star private members golf course development situated just outside of Warsaw. Turfgrass conducted a full site survey to include analysis of on site soils and off site sand and gravel to determine optimum rootzones and top soil replacement plan for the course developers.

 

February 2008 USGA awards 2015 U.S. Open Championship to Robert Trent Jones II’s Chambers Bay

Turfgrass Consultancy are proud of their association as Agronomic consultants for Chambers Bay. The Robert Trent Jones II (RTJ II) designed golf course in Pierce County, Washington, USA will play host to the 2015 U.S. Open Championship.

In addition to this prestigious honour the United States Golf Association (USGA) announced that Chambers Bay will also host the U.S. Amateur Championship in 2010.

Chambers has received worldwide acclaim since its opening and to be awarded such prestigious Championship venues for such a young course is a testament to the exceptional and breathtaking course created by RTJII overlooking the stunning Puget Sound as its backdrop.

 

On December 4th, GOLF Magazine announced that RTJ II’s Lübker Golf Resort, in Djurs, Denmark, has been selected as the Best New International Course of 2008.

GOLF senior editor Joe Passov called Lübker “Scandinavia’s answer to Valderrama,” and lauded its entertaining and challenging character, bold bunkering, daunting green surrounds, and remarkable conditioning. Lübker was the first real estate golf project in Denmark, and developer Poul Anker Lübker sold 90% of the real estate in an initial offering prior to breaking ground for the golf course. In addition, shares in the overall project were sold on the Danish Stock Exchange.

 

Turfgrass appointed Project Managers construction and grow in 36 hole Greg Norman Vinea Golf Resort outside of Vienna

The Vinea Golf Resort is located in Ritzing Village in Burgenland, which is an hour from Vienna and an hour from Bratislava. Turfgrass sucessfully introduced an investor to this exciting project. The development includes two championship 18 hole golf courses, a golf academy, a state of the art sports centre, 180 bed luxury hotel and spa and 500 residential units. The first golf course and the academy will be designed by the world renowned golfer Greg Norman. The second 18 hole golf course will be designed by German architect Hans Erhardt. The project is in the early stages of planning and is expected to break ground beginning of 2010.

The 2011 Solheim Cup, Killeen Castle, Ireland

Turfgrass Consultancy has been appointed Tournament Agronomists by the LET for the 2011 Solheim Cup at Killeen Castle, County Meath, Ireland. The course is designed by Jack Nicklaus and will meet the highest championship standards.
